The article explains how to enter and complete a pallet exchange transaction in Logistiqo, either from a shipment or independently. It details selecting shipment data, entering pallet details, saving transactions, and viewing history from customer or carrier perspectives. Logistiqo auto-updates pallet accounts and allows manual adjustments.
Entering Pallet Exchange from a Shipment
- Go to Shipments > Shipment.
- Select the shipment for which you want to enter a pallet exchange.
- Click File in the toolbar and select Pallet Exchange.
- A pop-up window opens where you can enter the pallet exchange transaction.
Logistiqo automatically suggests several values based on the selected shipment. For example, the customer, carrier, location, driver, and vehicle can be prefilled from the shipment data. These values can still be changed manually if required.
Completing the Pallet Exchange Transaction
In the pop-up window, enter the relevant pallet exchange data.
The Unit Type defines which load carrier is exchanged, for example a Euro pallet. Only unit types that are allowed for pallet exchange are available for selection.
The Carrier is usually prefilled based on the shipment. If a subcontractor is assigned to the shipment, the subcontractor is suggested as the carrier. If no subcontractor is assigned, your own company is suggested.
The Location can be used to define where the pallet exchange took place, for example at the pickup or delivery location. Depending on the shipment data, Logistiqo may suggest the corresponding address.
Enter the exchanged quantities, for example how many pallets were delivered, received, or damaged. You can also enter a pallet note number, a description, and the exchange date if required.
Saving the Pallet Exchange
- After entering the required data, click Save.
- The pallet exchange transaction is saved and displayed in the history table at the bottom of the pop-up.
- If you want to enter another pallet exchange for the same shipment, for example for another location, click New, enter the next transaction, and save it again.
Each saved transaction updates the pallet accounts of the customer and the carrier. If no pallet account exists yet for the customer or carrier, Logistiqo creates it automatically.
Viewing Customer and Carrier Transactions
In the pallet exchange pop-up, you can switch between Customer and Carrier.
This allows you to check the pallet exchange history from both perspectives and verify how the transaction affects the corresponding pallet accounts.
Entering Pallet Exchange Without a Shipment Reference
You can also enter a pallet exchange without opening a shipment.
- Go to More > Pallets Exchange.
- Click New in the toolbar.
- Select whether the transaction should be entered from the Customer or Carrier perspective.
- Enter the relevant data, such as customer, carrier, location, unit type, quantities, pallet note number, description, and exchange date.
- Click Save.
This option is useful if a pallet exchange needs to be recorded independently from a shipment.
